Material: Silk

This kimono is called a Haori, an item worn over the kimono.

Mirror patterns and flowers are hand-painted one by one in bright vermillion red.

Although it is difficult to see in the image, there is a beautiful pot woven into the base pattern, and the pattern stands out depending on the lighting.

Mirror patterns are luxury items with decorations applied to the back of the mirror, and these patterns, which are reminiscent of aristocratic life, have been drawn as auspicious patterns for 400 years.

It is thought that this work depicts a luxurious lifestyle, as the appearance of a beautiful vase in the painting.

The lining has a pattern called “Genjiguruma”, which is a motif taken from the wheels of the imperial carriages that only noble aristocrats could ride.

The thoughts that the Japanese people put into their patterns are reflected here, as they give auspicious meaning to a wheel that spins endlessly.

This is the history of this kimono before they meet you.

Now they will make another history with you.
