This kimono is like a coat called Michiyuki. Although the purpose is to protect you from the cold, it is also important to enjoy the colour to match the kimono you are wearing underneath.
 
The fabric is finely striped and has a blur of shading, giving it a colour that resembles dawn when the dark sky becomes vaguely bright.
 
The lining has a pattern called Bishamon tortoise shell, which is auspicious and symbolizes longevity, likening it to a turtle that is said to live forever.
